Following the changeover from a two-part chain drive to a single-part chain drive, the camshaft sprockets on the VANOS now need 46 teeth instead of the previous 36 teeth. To compensate for the additional weight of the larger camshaft sprockets, the adjuster was designed to be shorter and more compact.

Split cooling
A new development for the B58TU engine is the split cooling. A cooling
concept which is used the
N63 TU2.
The split cooling function uses the electric split cooling valve, eSCV, to
enable on-demand

Warning function
Light in the exterior mirror
Prewarning
The dimmed light in the exterior mirror indicates
when there are vehicles in the blind spot or approaching
from behind.
Acute warning
If the turn signal is switched on while a vehicle is
in the critical zone, the steering wheel vibrates
briefly and the light
Hazard warning flashers
The button is located in the center console.
The red light in the button flashes when the hazard
warning flashers are activated.
Warning triangle
The warning triangle is located on the inside of
the trunk lid.
Press on the release, arrow 1, and swivel the
cover down, arrow 2.
