BMW 5 Series: Additional functions
General information
Depending on the mobile phone and the installed apps, the following contents of the mobile phone are transmitted to the vehicle:
- Contacts.
- Short messages.
Data transfer can take several minutes.
Certain functions may need to be enabled by the mobile phone provider or service provider.
Short messages
Displaying all short messages
1. "COM".

Status
A symbol identifies the short message status.

Selecting sources
You can choose, whether and from which mobile phone the short messages should be transferred.

Deleting a conversation
Completely delete a conversation with a contact.

The conversation with this contact is displayed.
Answering or forwarding a short message

Enter phone number or contact. Tilt the Controller to the right as needed to select the contact from the list of results.

Select mobile phone as needed, from which the short message should be sent.

General information
When the vehicle is locked, the vehicle alarm
system reacts to the following changes:
Opening a door, the hood or the trunk lid.
Movements in the car's interior.
Changes in the vehicle tilt, for instance, during
attempts at stealing a wheel or when towing
the vehicle.

Headphones and compatible headsets can be
connected using a jack plug 1/8"/3.5 mm on the
rear CD/DVD/Blu-ray player.
